Thermal leggings made from brushed French Terry – inside layer of the fabric is very soft and warm while outside layer is strong and stretchy. It is made for the whole day, not just for outdoors. The fabric is brushed on the inside, but is made of organic cotton instead of synthetic fleece. Cotton is breathable and absorbs moisture, so it feels comfortable on the skin even in a heated kindergarten, without the sticky feeling that some polyester fabrics leave behind.

How warm it feels varies from child to child. As a rule of thumb:

Indoors and on mild autumn days: wear solo
Cold days: with tights underneath

Mud, snow, frost: as a warm layer under mud pants or snow pants

Yes. The knee patches on Babbily trousers are specially designed to last significantly longer than ordinary children's trousers.

While many conventional fabrics show signs of wear after around 5,000 friction cycles, the knee patches on our trousers withstand around 100,000 cycles in the Martindale test. This is many times the amount of wear and tear encountered during everyday play.

Important: Extreme knee-sliding on indoor flooring – such as celebrating a goal – can of course damage this fabric as well.

For everything else children do – climbing, crawling, sliding, romping around – these reinforced knees are made to last.

Use your child's current height as a guide.
Babbily sizes are designed to span multiple sizes and are intentionally looser at first.

For more room to grow: Choose based on current height.
For a more fitted look: Choose a size smaller – with correspondingly less room for growth.

💡 Growing with your child needs space – not just in length, but also in width.

At three points:

Waistband: You can adjust the waistband tighter or looser using the buttonhole elastic. Once set, your child can put the leggings on and take them off by themselves.
Length: The long leg cuffs are folded up at the beginning and unrolled bit by bit as the child grows.
Width: At first, the leggings fit a bit looser, almost like trousers on slim children. As the child grows, they fit closer to the body without feeling tight.

The knee patch is intentionally cut large so that it still covers the knee even after a growth spurt. This way, the leggings will accompany your child through 3–4 clothing sizes.

The Babbily pants are designed to be worn for many months – often for an entire year.

The cut gives children plenty of freedom of movement and allows the pants to grow with them for a long time thanks to the elastic waistband and adjustable length.

Of course, the actual length of time they can be worn also depends on how wild your child's adventures are. However, many parents tell us that their Babbily pants are worn for over a year and even passed on to siblings afterwards.

Do not buy "to grow into"

The room to grow is already factored into the cut. This ensures the knee patches sit exactly where they are meant to protect.

Wash gently

Best at 30 °C and turned inside out. This is gentle on the organic cotton and preserves the surface for longer.

Wear in rotation

Natural fibers appreciate short breaks. If the pants are not worn every single day, they will hold their shape longer.

Thanks to their robust craftsmanship, a pair of Babbily trousers can replace several conventional pairs. This saves resources right from the manufacturing stage.

Estimated impact per pair of Babbily trousers:

5,400 liters of water – about 36 full bathtubs
19 kWh of energy – enough for about 3,200 smartphone charges
13 kg of CO₂ – comparable to a car trip of about 87 km

Calculation basis: One pair of Babbily trousers replaces an average of three conventional children's trousers; since one of these would be produced anyway, we calculate the effect for the two trousers avoided as a result. Read more about the methodology here.

an kalten Tagen: ja. Der Bio-Baumwollstoff ist innen angeraut und wärmt, ohne
dick oder steif zu sein. Bei Regen, Matsch oder richtigem Schnee ziehst du
einfach eine Matsch- oder Schneehose darüber - die Leggings ist körpernah
genug, dass sich darunter kein Stoff staut.

Der Bund ist aus dem elastischen Rippbund gemacht - hoch, weich und ohne einschneidende Kordel. Mit dem Knopflochgummi stellst du ihn einmal passend ein - danach kann dein Kind die Leggings ganz ohne Knopf oder Reißverschluss selbst an- und ausziehen. Praktisch für die Kita, wo das mehrmals am Tag passiert.

Auf links bei 30 °C waschen und auf
Weichspüler verzichten - so bleiben Farbe und Gewebe geschont. Die Leggings
muss nicht gebügelt werden; wenn doch, nur mit niedriger Hitze, damit der
Kniebesatz nicht beschädigt wird. Beim Waschen ist das Einlaufen bereits
einkalkuliert - die Passform bleibt.

Meine 8 jährige Tochter hat eine Leggins geschenkt bekommen und es ist die erste Leggins/Hose die sie jetzt seit fast einem Jahr trägt und sie a)passt immer noch b) ist trotz Pfadfinder und InlineSkate Unfällen immer noch nicht kapput c)immernoch gemütlich und schick.

Ich finde die Idee einfach genial! Allerdings würde ich mir bei dem robusten Teil (bei den Knien) etwas schmälere Form, oder auch anderen Formen wünschen. Ich bin mir aber nicht sicher, ob dieses robuste Material in anderen Farben verfügbar ist. Die Qualität ist dafür 1A!!! Weiter so 👍🏻
