For comparison, many standard jersey fabrics begin to show wear after around 5,000 Martindale abrasion cycles. Our reinforced knees are designed to withstand everyday climbing, crawling, kneeling and playground adventures for much longer.

  • Machine wash at 30°C, inside out, to help protect the colours and organic fibres.
  • Air dry whenever possible to preserve the fabric and reduce energy use.

Do the knees really last longer?

Yes.

The reinforced knees on Babbily trousers are designed to last significantly longer than those on standard children's trousers.

Many conventional fabrics begin to show wear after around 5,000 Martindale abrasion cycles. The reinforcement used on our outdoor trousers and leggings has been tested to withstand approximately 100,000 Martindale cycles—many times the abrasion children typically create during everyday play.

Like any fabric, it has its limits. Repeated knee slides across smooth indoor sports floors—think football goal celebrations—generate extreme friction and heat that can damage almost any textile. But for the adventures children tackle every day—climbing, crawling, kneeling, sliding and exploring—our reinforced knees are built to keep up.

How do the leggings grow with the child?

In three places:

  • Waistband: You can adjust the waistband to be tighter or looser using the buttonhole elastic. Once set, your child can pull the leggings on and off by themselves.
  • Length: The long leg cuffs are folded up at the beginning and rolled down bit by bit as your child grows.
  • Width: At the beginning, the leggings fit a bit looser, almost like trousers on slimmer children. As your child grows, they fit more closely to the body without feeling constrictive.

The knee patch is intentionally cut large so that it still covers the knee even after a growth spurt. This allows the leggings to accompany your child through 3–4 clothing sizes.

How do Babbily trousers fit?

Use your child's current height as a guide.
Babbily sizes are designed to cover several sizes as your child grows and are intentionally a bit looser at the beginning.

For more room to grow: Choose based on current height.
For a closer fit: Choose a smaller size – with correspondingly less room for growth.

Welche Leggings eignet sich für den Kindergarten?

Eine weiche, die sich leicht selbst anziehen lässt und am Knie einiges aushält. Die GrowProof™ Bio-Leggings hat einen breiten, verstellbaren Bund ohne Knöpfe und Reißverschluss, viel Bewegungsfreiheit und verstärkte Knie - für Morgenkreis, Klettergerüst und alles dazwischen. Der weiche Jersey aus
zertifizierter Bio-Baumwolle ist atmungsaktiv und hautfreundlich, auch beim langen Sitzen auf dem Boden.

Kann mein Kind die Leggings selbst an- und ausziehen?

Ja, genau dafür ist sie entworfen. Außen gibt es keine Knöpfe, Reißverschlüsse oder Kordeln: einfach hineinschlüpfen, hochziehen, fertig. Den verstellbaren Gummizug im Bund stellst du einmal ein - beim Toilettengang in der Kita ist dein Kind danach auf niemanden angewiesen.

Der Bund drückt bei anderen Leggings immer. Ist dieser anders?

Der Komfortbund ist breit und weich und sitzt ohne einzuschneiden. Weil er sich mit dem Gummizug in der Weite anpassen lässt, rutscht die Leggings auch bei schmalen Kindern nicht - und drückt bei kräftigeren nicht. Die umschlagbaren
Beinbündchen passen zusätzlich die Länge an.

Was, wenn mein Kind auf feuchtem Boden spielt?

Der Kniebesatz hält rund 100.000 Scheuertouren im Martindale-Test stand, ist wasserabweisend und lässt sich leicht abwischen. Für trockenen Boden, Sand und Gras reicht die Leggings draußen völlig. Bei Regen und richtigem Matsch gehört einfach eine Matschhose darüber. So bleibt die Leggings die unkomplizierte Alltagshose - drinnen wie draußen, ohne ständigen Wechsel.

Sind die gemusterten Leggings genauso robust wie die einfarbigen?

Ja. Gemusterte und unifarbene Leggings bestehen aus demselben leichten Sommerjersey und haben dieselbe flexible 4-Wege-Stretch-Knieverstärkung gegen Abnutzung.

Wenn dein Kind besonders viel draußen spielt, empfehlen wir unsere Jeans-Leggings: Der etwas dickere Sommersweat ist für Spielplatz und Outdoor-Alltag noch besser geeignet.

Sind Jeans-Leggings bequem genug für den ganzen Tag?

Ja. Der Stoff sieht nach Jeans aus, fühlt sich aber weich und elastisch an. Der hohe, verstellbare Bund sorgt zusätzlich für einen bequemen Sitz.

Für welche Jahreszeit eignet sich die Jeans-Leggings?

Der etwas festere Sommersweat eignet sich besonders gut für Frühling, Herbst und milde Wintertage.

Was ist der Unterschied zwischen Jeans-Leggings und normalen Leggings?

Unsere Jeans-Leggings sind etwas dicker und robuster als die leichten Jersey-Leggings. Beide haben denselben mitwachsenden Schnitt und verstärkte Knie.
