How do Babbily trousers fit?
Babbily trousers are designed to fit true to size, with room to grow.
To find the right fit, simply use your child’s actual height as a guide. Since sizing varies significantly between brands, we recommend sticking to their actual measurements for the best
fit.
Size Chart (Child's Height → Babbily Size)
- 80–90 cm → Size 80+
- 90–102 cm → Size 92+
- 102–114 cm → Size 104+
- 114–126 cm → Size 116+
- 126–138 cm → Size 128+
- 138–150 cm → Size 140+
Deciding Between Sizes?
Our grow-with-me cut is designed to be versatile, each piece is optimized for an average
build. But here’s how to choose based on your child’s build.
- For Slimmer Builds: We recommend choosing the smaller size. This ensures the trousers fit perfectly from day one without any bunching or excess fabric.
- For Average to Sturdier Builds: Go for the next size up. Thanks to our adjustable comfort waistband, the trousers will still sit securely while offering plenty of room for active play.
The Babbily Difference: Our Signature Waistband
Instead of a narrow, pinching elastic, we use an extra-wide, stretchy comfort waistband. It provides a secure hold without leaving pressure marks—perfect for a full day of movement and play.

Why children and parents love Babbily trousers
Why do some children refuse to wear certain trousers?
Often it's not the child—it's the trousers.
A waistband that digs into little tummies. Stiff fabrics that make climbing, sitting and playing uncomfortable. Clothes that children can't wait to take off.
That's why we designed these pull-on trousers differently.
A relaxed fit gives children complete freedom to move, while the wide comfort waistband feels soft against the tummy and can be adjusted for the perfect fit. Nothing digs in, nothing slips down, and nothing gets in the way of childhood.
Comfort that stays comfortable
The wide waistband replaces the narrow elastic often found in children's trousers. It sits gently against the tummy, adjusts as your child grows and stays comfortably in place all day.
For children with sensitive tummies, that small difference can make a big difference.
Designed to grow with your child
Children grow quickly, so we designed these trousers to grow with them.
The clever double hem can be turned up when they're new and let down as your child grows, helping the trousers fit beautifully for longer without looking oversized.
Room to move
Children spend their days climbing, running, sitting on the floor and discovering the world around them.
The relaxed fit gives them the freedom to move naturally without pulling, pinching or getting in the way.
Soft organic cotton
We chose GOTS-certified organic cotton because it feels soft against the skin, breathes naturally and stays comfortable wash after wash.
Made without unnecessary chemicals and gentle on sensitive skin.
Pockets for little treasures
Every adventure ends with something coming home—a favourite pebble, a leaf, a tiny toy or a handkerchief. Two practical pockets leave room for all of it.
Made with care
Designed in Vienna and responsibly made in small batches in Europe.
Not mass-produced, but thoughtfully made to be worn, loved and passed on.
How sustainable are Babbily trousers?
Babbily: clothing made to last — for children and for the planet
Babbily was created as an alternative to fast fashion. Our focus is simple: make children’s trousers that can be worn longer, passed on, and enjoyed through everyday play.
Why longevity matters
The most sustainable garment is usually the one that doesn’t need to be replaced. Because Babbily trousers grow with the child one pair can often replace several conventional pairs.
Based on average production data, choosing one pair of Babbily play trousers instead of multiple
short-lived alternatives can help reduce environmental impact:
- Around 3,000 litres of water saved — roughly the amount used for 20 household baths
- About 6 kWh of energy conserved — comparable to charging a smartphone hundreds of times
- Approximately 4.5 kg of CO₂ avoided — emissions linked to producing additional garments
These numbers are estimates, but they help illustrate how durability can make a difference over time.
Thoughtful production, close to home
Sustainability for us is less about big promises and more about everyday decisions — where materials come from, who makes the clothes, and how far they travel.
- Made in Europe
We produce in Austria, Slovakia and neighbouring regions, helping keep transport distances short. - Working with family-run ateliers
We collaborate with small manufacturers who combine craftsmanship with fair working conditions. - GOTS-certified organic cotton
All fabrics are certified according to the Global Organic Textile Standard (KIWA BCS 26126 & Control Union 1010800), meaning no harmful chemicals and gentle materials for sensitive children’s skin. - Plastic-free packaging
Orders are packed using recyclable, low-impact materials — simple solutions that reduce unnecessary waste.
